Quality genre entertainment for global audiences.

Founded in 2022 by award-winning writer and director Philip Koch, Nocturna was established as a production company dedicated to creating high-quality genre entertainment for global film and television audiences. Koch has built his reputation with acclaimed works such as the Netflix science fiction saga "Tribes of Europa" (2021), the International Emmy-nominated drama "Play" (2018), and "Picco" (2010), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Nocturna aims to produce cinematically sophisticated yet widely appealing content that merges genre filmmaking with emotional depth. The company's first production was the Netflix martial arts action film "60 Minutes" in 2024, directed by Oliver Kienle and starring German breakout star Emilio Sakraya. The fast-paced action film became a major success on the platform, garnering over 40 million views worldwide and ranking as the fourth most successful German film on Netflix.

The successful collaboration with Netflix continues in 2025 with the high-profile mystery thriller "Brick", written and directed by Koch himself. Since July 10, 2025, it has been available on Netflix and reached number 1 in 59 countries, as well as number 1 among non-English language films worldwide. Brick is starring the German international film star Matthias Schweighöfer, alongside Frederick Lau and Ruby O. Fee.
